64 gymnasts from Stage 2 Gymnastics/SHS Gymnastics Academy took part in our annual 5-day gymnastics training camp at Lilleshall National Sports Centre during August. We were lucky enough to train along side the GB men's junior squad and Olympian Rebecca Tunney which was very inspiring for our young gymnasts. Lots of new skills were flying around the gym in preparation for the upcoming West Midlands Levels Competition at the GMAC. A big thanks to all the coaches involved. A very productive week. Well done everyone! Over 200 gymnasts took part in our 13th Annual Club Gymnastics Competition this weekend at London Road Sports Centre in Shrewsbury. The girls and boys worked extremely hard this term learning their routines and performed them in front of a large audience of friends and family. We had many different categories ranging from Under 5 Years Recreational right up to our Elite Level 2 gymnasts. We would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who volunteered including parents, gymnasts and friends - we couldn't have done it all without you! We would also like to thank the fantastic photography company who captured literally every moment! Hundreds of amazing photos are available to buy online from Mark In Time Photography . There is a discount if you order this week :
The top three overal medallists from each category were as follows: All Stage 2 gymnasts regardless of age or experience are invited to compete in our 13th annual club competition which will be taking place on Saturday 5th July 2014 at London Road Sports Centre in Shrewsbury. This is the penultimate Saturday before the end of term. During the Summer Term each year our gymnasts are taught routines based on what they have been working on throughout the year, which they then perform in front of qualified gymnastics judges, friends and family. It is our only fundraising event of the year to raise money for new gymnastics equipment for the club. We'd love your help in volunteering to register children, baking cakes to sell and donating raffle prizes. Medals and prizes will be up for grabs for the top three gymnasts in each category and each child will receive a participation certificate.
